(More customer reviews)This is such a handy little gadget. I was pleasantly pleased to find that the light actually lights the entire writing surface once you remove the pen from its holder. It's bright enough to write your thoughts down in the middle of the night when you're half asleep and you don't want to be blinded by turning on the bedside lamp or wake your sleeping partner. The light is focused just on the notecard held in place in the holder. I even like the "feel" when I hold this gadget while writing. The holder is molded on the edges to fit your hand and is very comfortable in your hand to help you steady the item while you're writing. It's a wonderful little gadget -- and good enough for my purpose, which is to jot down notes to myself that I'm afraid of forgetting after I wake up.
