I bought this pillow primarily to listen to my Hemi-Sync Sound Sleeper (delta waves) MP3 to fight insomnia and promote restful sleep. I also picked up an Upbeat Audio T793 Boostaroo USB-Powered Amplifier and 3-Channel Audio Splitter for thirty bucks to increase the pillow's volume, especially for spoken word tracks and music (it seemed a little too low without it). The pillow is comfortable but I wish it was softer/thicker and more fluffable. Obviously, you can't really fluff it much because the speakers built into it prevent that. Another problem is you can't easily separate the case from the all the stuff inside when you need to wash it and I don't recommend even trying. You'll definitely want a pillow protector (of course, you won't be able to zip it up all the way because the cord has to come out). These small annoyances aside, being able to listen to my HemiSync meditation MP3s, music, old time radio shows and audio books without headphones is great! I consider my Sleepsonic pillow to be a solid investment and instrumental in helping to defeat my insomnia.
