I purchased this product for a trip to Hawaii.

Let me start off by saying I am well trained at sleeping on aircraft.I was very excited to try this pillow and really built up some hype with my wife before the trip.

On the first leg of the trip to California I did not use this pillow and instead used the Head wing of the seat like usual (short flight). The anticipation was mounting and during the next leg I unleashed the travel rest pillow. That's when things became disappointing.A few breaths later and the travel pillow was inflated.Tying the travel pillow around a seat on a plane is unrealistic so I attempted to use it messenger bag style.I struggled with this for a good 10-15 minutes. As we ascended the travel pillow became firmer but never really firm enough no matter how many times I tried to fill it.The messenger bag style I found to be awkward. The head of the pillow fought against the seat and did not provide the neck support I expected. After all the built hype I was not admitting failure especially while my wife grinned as I struggled.

The return flight seemed a bit better.Perhaps because it was late at night or maybe because I was able to get this thing at a better angle.I was able to sleep the majority of the time with minimal neck pain. But mind you I can sleep the entire time anyway so really no props to the travel pillow for that.

Pros:Compact, easy to setup, Better than balling up clothing or a blanket, alleviates majority of neck pain, also eliminates majority of head bobbing.

Cons:takes effort to switch sides that is not conducive to sleep, String and stitching can scratch and irritate, never really feels firm or supportive enough, awkward, works for aisle and window seats but a little too bulky for middle (United). Expensive compared to normal mircobead travel pillows.

Overall:Its ok.I didn't find that it lived up to all the hype of the previous comments. My wife certainly doesn't want one.
